Article Abstract:

Microzine is a bi-monthly computer magazine 'on a disk' for students. Scholastic Wizware distributes Microzine for $39.95 each. This premiere issue contains four complete programs that students can explore plus utilities for drive set up and initializing a disk. The four programs include Twistaplot, an interactive interview, Haunted House, a short adventure game, Poster, a simple graphics program, and Secret Files, a simple electronic filing system. Microzine provides plenty of constructive entertainment for students who finish their work early. The program runs on the Apple II+.

Article Abstract:

This is the last in a multi-part review of the plato series of educational software. Texas Instrument's Plato: Behavioral Science and Plato: History sell for $49.95. apiece. Behavioral Science deals with conformity, and History deals with geographic expansion. Both programs offer good reinforcement on an individual basis for material presented in the classroom. Material presented is basic and does not provide enrichment. Both packages work on a TI99-4A, Apple and Atari.

Random House distributes Tutorial Quiz Master for $75. Tutorial Quiz Master can be used to create tutorial text and interactive quizzes. The package includes good documentation with a demonstration disk, a useful computerized scoring feature, and is and excellent teaching tool. The quality of material presented will depend entirely on the teacher using the Tutorial Quiz Master. The package is available for the Apple and TRS80.
