Student seeks full fee refund from Glasgow

Article Abstract:

Allan Strang, a postgraduate student who enrolled on a diploma/MSc course in adult and continuing education at Glasgow University in October 2001, is seeking a full refund of his UKPd3,000 fees as a result of his dissatisfaction with the level of service he received. Strang's complaints about his course have been handled through the university's student complaints procedure, which found that there is no case to answer and the Strang is not entitled to a refund. Strang is considering taking legal action against the university.

Alarm at the ungentlemanly claims by bogus 'university'

Article Abstract:

The Athenaeum Club, a 180-year-old members' club located in London, UK, has expressed concerns about the operations of the Athenaeum University UK, a bogus academic institution registered in Panama but which claims to have an "international studies centre" in the UK. The university claims to award fully accredited degrees but is recognised by no licensing body. The club has stated that it hopes nobody is misled by the misuse of its well-known name.
