Stylish theory kinda guy

Article Abstract:

Economist Paul Krugman reveals that reading science-fiction writer Isaac Asimov's 'Foundation' series as a child made him want to be a psycho-historian, someone able to predict the future of civilisations from the behaviour of crowds. He explains that he likes to find explanations for things, describing himself as a stylish theory kind of person. Krugman believes that inflation is the solution to the recession in Japan, arguing that higher inflation would encourage consumer borrowing and spending. He confesses that he likes to think of himself as an economist's economist.

Dolls, molls and polls

Article Abstract:

Women still number only 9% of the total Members of Parliament (MPs.) Their numbers increased after the 1992 election, particularly members of the Labour Party. Many western democracies have far higher numbers of female politicians. Some people think that those selecting prospective MPs are anti-women, or that female candidates lose votes for the party they represent.
