Subscript for a free and easy system

Article Abstract:

A pervasive networking infrastructure for higher education in Britain is a major element of the new five-year strategy of the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC). The strategy is designed to foster the development of the virtual university and allow institutions to exploit opportunities for research communications irrespective of distance. The JISC's programme of dataset provision at designated national data centres has proved a great success, and various private sector companies are now collaborating with the higher education community to establish a national images service.

Where next for the war game?

Article Abstract:

Recent wars indicate public opinion of the victorious country's leader is much enhanced by military conflicts. For instance, Margaret Thatcher's popularity improved after the Falklands War. History indicates that George Bush, who has dropped significantly in pre-1992 election polls, would experience a surge in popularity if a war broke out. Additionally, the war must be timed so its outbreak will not be seen as politically expedient by the American public.
