The changing of the guard

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the argument that has erupted as a result of the BBC television programme "The Experiment", which sought to reproduce the "Stanford prison experiment" study of human behavior conducted by Philip Zimbardo, professor emeritus at Stanford University, in 1971. Zimbardo criticises the research produced based on the programme, claiming that it is scientifically irresponsible, however those responsible for The Experiment - Alex Haslam, professor of social psychology at Exeter University, and Steve Reicher, professor of psychology at St Andrews University - contend that Zimbardo is simply upset that their research questions the findings of his original work.
