The dubious value of value-neutrality

Article Abstract:

Some American universities are beginning to reevaluate the intellectual atmosphere on campus following complaints about the repressing of students' political ideas. However, it is argued that institutions should aim not for value-neutrality, but for 'value-liberality', where many divergent ideas are heard and discussed.

A culture of black achievement: a challenged preference

Colleges and universities should develop a culture that entices Afro-Americans to enter disciplines of study that are both professionally and financially rewarding. These fields including engineering, computer sciences, medicine and the natural sciences.
