Article Abstract:

The chair of the University Museums Group UK argues that universities should take more pride in their museums as they are key to achieving their strategic goals. It is contended that universities do not do enough to integrate their university resources into their overall strategy, thereby missing out on opportunities to achieve targets for the widening of public access to higher education and to exert a greater influence on the nation's cultural life and education strategy.

Article Abstract:

A 19-year-old from Shaw, United Kingdom, lays out his reasons for not wanting to go to university. He believes that there are currently too many downsides to going to university, including large debts and less than wonderful job prospects. However, he acknowledges that having a degree would enable him to get interviews for jobs that he currently would not even be considered for.

Deian Hopkin took up his current position as vice-chancellor of London South Bank University three years ago. He feels that the main challenge of the job is to make sure that the university is regarded as the best in what it claims to do.
