Two out of three is just not enough

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the promotions procedure at universities in the United Kingdom and the pressure on lecturers to get promotions in order to maintain a decent standard of living. It is suggested that in the past lecturers would only have had to demonstrated good performance in two of the three fields of teaching, research and administration, however in the current environment if a lecturer wants to be promoted to senior lecturer status then they are likely to need to demonstrate good performance in all three areas.
