Article Abstract:

The Institute of Physics has struck a deal with the Joint Information Systems Committee to provide educational institutions in the UK with free access to its digital archive. The Institute, which has been publishing journals since 1874 and which has invested UKPd600,000 in the digitisation of its entire stock of back issues, claims that while it has struck similar deals with other organisations, this is the best deal anywhere in the world as it covers the whole of the UK.
