Wanted: flexible, responsible, all-round genius

Article Abstract:

The responsibilities of estate managers are being expanded by higher education institutions in the UK, with recruits expected to be capable of developing strategies for education delivery reform as well as being able to manage the estate effectively and economically. Outsourced services should be appropriately managed and monitored, while service delivery should meet the users' needs. Estates managers must balance the demands of users with those of financiers and must subsequently form a vendor/purchaser relationship with facilities users, including students.
