We'll never get into these genes

Article Abstract:

Genetic research is seen as able to deliver new understanding of medical conditions and so help with treatment, but such expectations are sometimes overoptimistic. A patient has died during trials of gene therapy in the US. Meanwhile, an additional 50,000 genes have been discovered taking the total number of human genes to 140,000 rather than the previously accepted figure of 90,000. This affects the progress of the human genome project in locating all human genes. There is concern that people with a genetic predisposition to a disease could become patients very early on despite showing no symptoms of a disporder.

When epic boys meet Hardy girls

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the evolutionary perspectives expressed in literary theory by Joseph Carroll are discussed. Carroll's theory claims that human story-telling abilities are connected with the tool-making abilities and sex-oriented tales relate to the evolution of the human species.
