Do these genes make me look fat?

Article Abstract:

Chemist and Nobel Laureate Sir John Walker is looking at how genes and molecules affect human metabolism. He has been studying ATP synthase which may be linked to obesity and mitochondrial DNA which may be one reason the human body goes through the ageing process. When Walker was recruited as the director of the Dunn Human Nutrition Unit, Cambridge, England, some scientists mistakenly felt his interest in the molecular level of chemistry would have a negative impact on research into nutrition at the centre. Walker plans to have 100 people working in the newly built Dunn building.
