Article Abstract:

The UK's universities are listed by dropout rate, student employment rate after graduation and percentage of students from lower social skill classes. Students from lower social classes are classified by percentage from group, benchmark percentage and location-adjusted benchmark percentage, dropout rates are listed by projected percentage and benchmark percentage, while employment rates are listed by indicator percentage and benchmark percentage.

Article Abstract:

Applications for university aerospace and aeronautical engineering courses are increasing as technically-minded individuals turn to computer-assisted flight control, technological advances in avionics and space travel following the bursting of the dot-com bubble. Sheffield University has this year seen an 18 percent rise in aplications for its aerospace engineering course.

The chief executive of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) outlines the Agency's plans for the future. It is also argued that university vice-chancellors in the UK need to respect the QAA's work as the international marketplace will require institutions that wish to be successful to have formal mechanisms in place to ensure quality of service.
