Your head in his hands

Article Abstract:

It is technically possible to undertake a head-transplant operation with existing equipment and drugs, according to neurosurgeon Robert White. He emphasizes that the main issue regarding head transplantation is not if it can be carried out, but whether it should be. He does not claim that his operation would necessarily make it possible for the recipient of a new body to walk, although a quadraplegic whose own body was failing would be able to think, speak and eat. Paraplegic Craig Vetovitz has volunteered to undergo a head-transplant operation.

Battle of the races

Article Abstract:

Whites in the US do not consider themselves racist, and do not see the need for positive discrimination in university admissions, but blacks still believe that racism exists. Most faculty members of any colour are in favour of positive discrimination in education, keen that minority groups should be well represented.

The work that has rocked anthropology

Article Abstract:
