What sparks intellectual movements?
Article Abstract:
An analysis of intellectual movements and the reasons why they arose, with particular attention paid to the Scientific Revolution that took place in the 17th century. It is argued that all of the distinct intellectual movements that have arisen in the history of the Western world have sprung up in response to external changes and growing dissatisfaction with the intellectual tools available to explain these changes.
