47 million stations let Japan communicate wirelessly

Article Abstract:

Japan's substantial use of wireless communications is reflected by the 47 million wireless stations in the Asian country as of Mar 1999, which is 7.9 million more compared to the same period in 1998. Most of the stations cater to cellular mobile communications, as more households and corporations increase dependence on wireless systems. Wireless technologies have also emerged as major components of broadcasting, which is soon expected to turn to satellite waves in the future.

CCB-453 triple-beam antennas

Article Abstract:

Nippon Antenna Company Ltd of Japan has introduced a new triple-beam antenna in 1999. The CCB-453 45-cm antenna adopts a parabola design to capture communications and broadcast satellite signals, including SkyPerfectTV programs. It sells for $379 and features a 0.8 dB noise factor for its broadcast satellite converter. The company also rolled out a companion release, the CCS-453 dual-beam antenna.
