Autosound Market in Gear for Smooth '84 Sales Ride

Article Abstract:

A more agressive autosound policy in Detroit in 1984 will not come at the expense of aftermarket suppliers. The autosound market as a whole is expected to reach almost two billion dollars, up seventy nine million from 1983. Prices are expected to remain stable. Auto security sales are predicted to grow thirteen percent, to over the sixty million dollar level.

Autosound: On the Road to Riches with...Display Techniques

Article Abstract:

Effective displays can help lead customers to buy autosound equipment they might normally bypass. Mass marketers, discounters and autosound specializers are emphasizing better looking and sounding displays. Good displays give the impression of high quality. Many mass merchants cannot or will not devote the time and money necessary for elaborate displays.

CES Wrap-Up: Autosound

Article Abstract:

At the 1984 Winter CES autosound marketers presented mostly top of the line products. New speakers were largely similar to those now offered by General Motors-Bose, amplified. High priced models also dominated the lines of receivers. Over thirty companies offered security systems. Several companies displayed prototypes of compact disc players for autos.
