Rohm Co Ltd has introduced its BUF2991FV controller LSI for on-screen displays in digital camcorders and for other audio-video equipment. The product handles text displays, 3D displays, overlapping displays, mirror reversals and other dispaly functions. Meanwhile, Yamaichi Electric Co Ltd has launched its FLS007 series of multimedia card connectors. The connectors feature detachable active drive lines and low-profile designs.

Synopsys, Chartered team up for 0.25um processes

Article Abstract:

Synopsys Inc and Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Inc have agreed to jointly develop silicon-calibrated technology files. The files are designed to validate Chatered customers' 0.25um processes and use of Synopsys' transistor-level timing and layout extraction tools. Under the partnership, Synopsys will provide the GDSII test structure layout, while Chartered will produce the 0.25um test chip and supply finished wafers.
