Cargo theft squad

Article Abstract:

An association of national retailers is organizing a cargo theft squad which will coordinate with law enforcement agencies and insurance firms to apprehend and prosecute freight thieves. The group, called the Retail Industry Cargo Security Committee will cooperate with the National Cargo Security Council, a non-government group which is battling cargo freight across the US. About $12 billion of freight is lost yearly at ports, docks, in airports or in transit by truck or rail.

Shift to IPv6 Internet standard gathers global momentum

Article Abstract:

In the hope of creating IPc6 networks without the use of the current IPv4, the Defense Department of the U.S. will establish an experimental IPv6 network and equipment through 2008. The United States' need for advanced networks and a new information security mechanism arises from changes in how wars are being fought and the requirement for tougher counter-terrorism measures.
