Article Abstract:

Consumer electronics manufacturers such as Thomson Consumer Electronics and Matsushita Electronics have launched their own websites to promote and sell their products. Sony and Philips, on the other hand, chose to rely on web retailers to sell their products in the Internet. Meanwhile, JVC Company of America still refuses to adopt direct-to-consumer selling because company officials believe that the traditional dealers network will continue to achieve the company's sales goals.

Palm-size computers for every budget

Article Abstract:

Plenty of new hand-held computer models are expected to debut at the PC Expo in June 1999. Oregon Scientific and VTech are two newcomers to the category, introducing low-end models that aim to capture mainstream consumers. Veteran companies are also launching lower-priced units such as Royal, which is introducing the daVinci Pro ($149 suggested retail price). Notable releases include the world's first color Windows CE hand-held computer form Hewlett-Packard.

Article Abstract:

Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Sega of America Inc and Nintendo of America Inc will introduce three new video game consoles. Sega will introduce its Dreamcast which will include new and familiar game titles. Sony's Playstation II will be introduced in the fall of 2000 and it will use DVD as its media. Nintendo announced that its 'Dolphin' system will be ready by end of 2000.
