Article Abstract:

Consumer electronics retailers are predicting an explosive holiday selling season. The first priority of dealers will be moving basic goods. They are expecting unit sales to increase fifteen to twenty percent over 1983. Retailers are concerned about interest rates and the availability of goods. A chart of total monthly retail sales is included.

Phones for Kids: Will They Sell, or Become Toys in the Attic

Article Abstract:

Toy suppliers plan to produce novelty phones linked to traditional toy products. They hope to market them through toy stores. Toy retailers are not sure about selling phones to the under eighteen market. Coloeco's phones are directed at the low end market. Coleco and Tyco are planning new advertising campaigns.
