Customers see little change in economy or utilities

A recent utilities survey says that most US consumers expect power quality to remain the same in the future. Some utilities have empowered employees to make policy decisions in dealing with customers. Growing computer ownership has an impact on the industry.

Some utility companies are giving employees responsibility to provide service to their customers that goes beyond company guidelines. They feel this allows employees to become personally involved in problems and promotes customer satisfaction.
