Despite materials shortage, solar cells face sunny outlook

Article Abstract:

Growing concern over shortage of silicon materials owing to a rapid rise in use of photovoltaic power generation systems, which in turn can be seen as the result of increased solar battery cell production, is discussed. Statistical analysis of global solar cell production ratio and global market forecast for photovoltaic power systems, is also provided.

As world grapples with global warming, solar power comes of age

Article Abstract:

The Kyoto Protocol, is a response to the demand for reduction of six kinds of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide. Therefore, the photovoltaic generation has been introduced in various sectors. The production data of solar cells since 2004 till the current day, and the growing demand for these products, are discussed.

Sanyo sees sunny outlook in Europe for efficient HIT cells

The production of solar cells by Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., its expectations to further expand the business, the growing demand for photovoltaic power generation, and the company's intention to start sales of its 270W HIT (heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer) Solar Cell Module and its 200W New HIT Double, are discussed.
