EU: GROWTH FOR INTELLIGENT BUILDINGS CONTROLS

Article Abstract:

Producers sales of intelligent building controls firms in 1997 in seven leading EU countries totalled GB[pound] 535mn with the value of complete systems reaching GB[pound] 1.2bn, according to a study by i&i/Proplan. It predicts that between 1998 and 1999 there will be a 2.5% sales growth owing to greater retrofitting and more installations during building refurbishments. Systems integrators and heating and ventilating companies are challenging the dominance of producers in this marketplace which is leading to the producers themselves establishing their own integrators.
