Cellular at Retail: Match Made in Heaven?

Article Abstract:

Prices for cellular mobile radio have fallen and now the products present a great opportunity to consumer electronics dealers. Some two way radio dealers believe that the entrance of other retailers into the market will start a trend of price cutting. Most cellular dealers now use a direct sales approach. Many consumers are leasing rather than buying units.

Dealers and distributors of consumer electronics are concerned about rises in the prime rate. The growing interest rates will result in less retail purchasing. Consumer loan rates are still somewhat stable.
