Global projector market may stretch to 1 million units

Article Abstract:

Sales of data projectors worldwide in 1999 reached 650,000 to 750,000 units, in which Japanese manufacturers contributed 55,000 to 65,000 units. Forecast for the sector in 2000 remains favorable, with analysts predicting sales of 850,000 to 1 million units. Manufacturers believe that the realization of the forecast will be easy if they can get abundant supply of key devices such as liquid crystal display panels and light source lamps needed to produce data projectors.
