Hitachi Denshi Ltd has unveiled a surveillance camera that is capable of capturing color images even at illumination levels of 0.02 lux. The HC-300 dome camera offers a working range of 1.5 to 8,000 lux, a range that is 120 times greater compared to similar models. Hitachi's HC-300 camera, which retails for 480,000 yen ($4,486), also features the company's dual automatic white balance function that minimizes the effect of color tone variations during recording.

DX-TL650/TL620 digital recorders

Mitsubishi Electric Corp has unveiled two digital recorders that have memory capacities of 60GB each. The devices, which include the DX-TL650 and the DX-TL620, retails for 850,000 yen ($7,944) and 700,000 yen ($6,542), respectively. Mitsibushi's digital recorders, which are aimed at the closed-circuit television surveillance industry, are capable of capturing fine-quality JPEG images with resoultions of over 400 lines.
