High-tech A/V unleashes snappy European comeback

The 1999 edition of the Berlin Show will showcase the latest developments in the audio-video fields. The exhibition, now in its 75th year, will be held at the Berlin International Trade Fair Hall from Aug 28 through Sep 5. Manufacturers are expected to display portable and personal models of their DVD player lines in an effort to carve a new niche. Sales of DVD players are projected to reach 5 million to 7 million units in 1999.
