J-15FF1, J-15FM1 TV/VCRs

Article Abstract:

Toshiba Corp has introduced its J-15FF1 and the J-15FM1 composite TV and VCR products with technology for reducing the effects of external noise and signal transmission loss. The J-15FF1 is a Hi-Fi model, while the J- 15FM1 is a monoaural model. Both versions feature two speakers and allow stereo output. The units can rewind a 120-min cassette tape in 46 sec. Also, the products offer a double tuner function and a G-code reservation capability.

Yamaha to release A/V amplifier with built-in DTS

Article Abstract:

Yamaha Corp of Japan is set to unveil its DSP-A1 audio-video (A/V) amplifier in Mar 1998 in the US. The new system, which has a total of seven channels for full sound impact delivery, also has a Digital Theater System that is commonly applied as a sorround system for movie theaters. Yamaha's DSP-A1, which was introduced in Japan in early Oct 1997, is claimed to be capable of processing 3.4 times the data processed by the Dolby Digital system.

JVC to release D-VHS VCRs in U.S. market

Article Abstract:

Victor Company of Japan Ltd (JVC) will release a number of digital consumer electronic equipment in the US in mid-2000. The products, which include DVD players, D-VHS VCRs and a 60-inch direct image light amplifier, will be positioned as key components of home network systems. JVC is considering the US release of a high-definition D-VHS VCR model, which is already available in Europe and Japan, by the middle of the year.
