Leverage challenges

Article Abstract:

The warranty industry experienced leverage difficulties in 1999 caused by the falling price points of commodity products such as computers, fax machines and video tape recorders. Warranty providers such as Aon Innovative Solutions, Philips Priority Service Plans and VAC Service Corp received less business from commodity product manufacturers because of the price fall. However, they found a new market in manufacturers of high- technology digital products.

The trend can also be seen in Europe where American-sized refrigerators are becoming popular as status symbols and semi-professional-style ranges are being remade for smaller European kitchens.
