NX5R sound modules
Article Abstract:
Korg has introduced the NX5R sound module featuring the Advanced Integrated 2 (AI2) synthesis for full-digital processing, Advanced Wave Memory 2 (AWM2) sound generation and the XG tone generator daughterboard. The NX5R is capable of producing 96 voices, 1,689 AI2 sounds and 676 AWM2 sounds, 48 channel multiple timbers and 52 different drum kits. The AI2 generator provides two independent stereo units offering 47 different effects including chorus, delay, overdrive and rotary speaker.

To bolster U.S. sales, Sony brightens amp, speaker designs
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp is hoping that its new range of Xplod audio amplifiers and speakers would do well in the US, where Sony has a 30% share of the amplifier and speaker market. The company used a double voice coil to improve the sound quality of its speakers. On the other hand, Sony has changed the color of its head units from blue to red and has increased the number of head models that have a rotary encoder. It has already introduced 2-DIN CD and casette models in the US.
