Bennett sees years of change

Article Abstract:

Hitachi America's Exec VP Gary Bennett has seen a lot of changes in the consumer electronics industry since he began his career at Sony Corp. Bennett predicts a brighter future for the industry which is at the brink of the digital age. However, the excitement over the new technology is marred by confusion. He tries to counter the confusion by increasing sales staff training for retailers whose enthusiasm is evident with regional chain requests even in the months of November and December.

High capacity storage solutions

Article Abstract:

Buyers of computer storage drives consider compatibility and capacity when choosing among many formats in the market. Iomega's Zip drive offers both high capacity and compatibility, thus making it the market leader. Recordable and re-writable CD drives, however, have the advantage in both capacity and compatibility with CDs containing up to 650 MB. Falling prices and technological improvements are likely to make recordable CD drives a standard on many personal computers in the future.
