Sony Corp introduces its PCS-1600 and PCS-6000 video-conference systems that utilize the company's Memory Stick media. The PCS-1600, which costs $7,254, is capable of communications at 384 Kbps, and with the use of optional local area network software, the product can operate on a LAN at 1Mbps. The PCS-6000, which is priced at $18,000, is a high-end system intended in areas, such as education and medical care. It allows a video conference among people at six sites. The unit can perform communications at 1.5 Mbps on an ISDN and at 2 Mbps on a LAN.

Sanyo Electric Co Ltd introduces its CDF-MS10 car audio, which is a 1-DIN size. Despite its size, the product includes a tuner, a 45W x four-channel amplifier and a mechanism for both CDs and MiniDiscs. The CDF-MS10's front design is silver with a blue-black LCD. The unit allows users to choose from 14 display patterns in the eight-band spectrum analyzer. Carrying a price of $464, the equipment has also auxiliary input terminals.
