Sony clears path for migration to digital TV systems

Article Abstract:

Sony will display digital broadcasting products having MPEG interoperability at the NAB '99 annual trade show. The company will also exhibit MPEG network operations through the Serial Data Transport Interface Content Pack technology. Sony will unveil a crucial extension to the 1/2-in HDCAM VTRs at NAB '99. These VTRs are compatible with the Betacam SX and Digital Betacam systems. Sony will also launch the next advancement in multiple-scan digital TV studio monitors.
