Portable gaming packs profits

Article Abstract:

Handheld videogame makers have launched their latest models of portable gaming system. Industry leader Nintendo is offering its Game Boy Color which is available in four vibrant color housings: berry, teal, dandelion and kiwi. InterAct has introduced its new lines that include GameShark Pro for GameBoy Color and GameBoy Pocket system, Link Cable, PulsePak Color and 8MB Mega Memory Card for the GameBoy system. Other new products include Nuby's Lights!Power!Action Pack!, SNK's NeoGeo color system and Tiger Electronics game.com.pocket system.

Divx rolls out with RCA player

Article Abstract:

Digital Video Express will release its Thomson RCA DVD player in Nov 1998. The unveiling of the latest Divx pay-as-you go DVD format will commence in about 800 retail outlets composed primarily of Circuit City stores and 60 other retailers. The release of the initial RCA Divx player, the RC5230Z, is expected to be followed by the release of the ProScan Divx player. Digital Video Express has announced the availability of 182 Divx titles and has promised the delivery of about 40 to 50 titles monthly.

SOHO telephony: multi-lines, 'Net-enabled

Article Abstract:

A number of telephone systems with enhanced features are being introduced specifically for the small office/home office environment. These include an Internet phone from Acer Inc, IBM-branded telecom systems from TT Systems and InfoGear's iPhone that combines a telephone with keyboard, screen and software. Other products include Panasonic's multi-handset cordless phones and Cygnion Corp's digital spread spectrum phone.
