SL-SW870 portable CD players

Article Abstract:

Japan-based Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd has introduced its new SL-SW870 portable compact disc player to the market. Designed to resemble a sturdy hubcap, this waterproof product is 26.5 mm thick compared to conventional versions typically measuring 31.8 mm. The front and back carry protectors are made of forged aluminum. The SL-SW870 also features a Virtual Motion Sound System, which creates vibrations corresponding to heavy bass tones so that users can feel as well as hear the sounds.

MD-MT821 MD players

Article Abstract:

Sharp Corp has introduced the MD-MT821 recordable and portable MiniDisc player, which can replay 11.5 hours or record 8 hours of audio on a single lithium ion battery. Playback time can be extended to 18 hours and recording time to 11 hours if an AA alkaline dry-cell battery is used. The MD-MT821 uses a single chip that integrates both the signal processing coder and decoder as well as a digital servo handling eight-to-fourteen modulation compression and expansion.
