Shared vision: liberalization strategies from the Moscow G8 summit

The World Energy Council held a conference in Moscow, Russia between G8 countries to discuss and formulate liberalization strategies on the energy industry. Liberalization brings about diversification, better services, greater access and lower prices to the players in the sector.

Why utility board membership is changing

Article Abstract:

Electric utility boards are generally younger and paid less than other US corporations. This was revealed by executive head hunter Spencer Stuart which forecasts that board member turnover will rise between 1996 and 2000 as more electric utilities diversify.

State launches emissions-trading program

California's Regional Clean Air Incentives Market program is designed to reduce future hydrocarbons emissions. The program could lower pollution-control costs, and should encourage development of environmentally-sound technologies.
