Small batery, big benefits

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers of specialty batteries have introduced their latest product lines. The specialty category covers the coin or button cells, the smallers round cells and other shapes, which are supplied in chemistries that include alkaline, lithium, zinc air and silver oxide. Among the latest are Duracell's Ultra lithium batteries, Energizer's watch/electronic battery, JBRO Batteries' Telepower Li lithium ion camcorder batteries, Rayovac's 1.4-volt zinc air hearing aid batteries and Saft's cordless phone battery.

The indoor chef meets the great outdoors

Cooking and refrigeration equipment manufacturers are launching outdoor versions of their product lines in an effort to appeal to affluent consumers. These new products are not the typical charcoal grills, but are high-tech gizmos that make conveniences close at hand during outdoor camping and other adventures. Oudoor appliances are expected to be as reliable as their indoor counterparts while braving the outdoor elements.

Future shock: kitchens get wired

Kitchen appliances are being enhanced with electronics and communication devices that effectively make the kitchen the home's command, control and communications center. Internet-ready refrigerators that can be used to access home shopping sites and networked appliances that can be controlled from a remote location are just among the applications being readied for the marketplace.
