Specialist dealers form core of Panasonic's marketing strategy

Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd, the maker of the Panasonic brand of consumer electronics, relies on specialty dealers for almost 40% of its aftermarket sales in the US car audio market. The company, which intends to continue with the proven marketing strategy, is hoping to increase the sales of its car audio products by another 15% for FY2000. Matsushita is banking on the popularity of its Day and Night CD receivers and DVD players to make the target a reality.

Kenwood America steers car audio plans along right lane

Article Abstract:

Kenwood Americas Corp is in the process of developing a marketing strategy that will hopefully result in double-digit sales growth in the US car audio equipment sector, similar to what it was able to achieve in 1999. The company, which is celebrating its second decade in the US market, plans to include the D Mask Plus model to its Exelon line of car audio equipment. Kenwood deluxe Exelon and Mask series are credited for the company's improved sales.

As DVD-Video take hold, Sony forges strategy for SACD, DVD-Audio

Article Abstract:

Sony Electronics Inc, which has already captured the majority of the DVD- Video hardware market in the US, is positioning its DVD-Audio format products for home theater systems. The company, which continues to push for the sale of products using the Super AudioCD (SACD) format, believes that the high quality of DVD-Audio is best-suited for home theaters. Sony, a member of the DVD Forum, is also one of the co-developers of the SACD format.
