Standardizing steel structures saves money

Article Abstract:

Iowa Public Service standardized its steel structures after its acquisition of Iowa Power Inc. It developed standard structures by drawing up design criteria and standard equipment lists and by developing structure specification drawings based on structure specifications.

Creative fleet management saves a truckload of bucks

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning ways in which electric utilities fleet managers can improve efficiency and reduce the cost of fleet distribution and maintenance are discussed. Several concerns of fleet managers are addressed, including leasing, hiring and retiring vehicles.
