The China factor

Article Abstract:

The traditional image of Chinese products is that they are bought on impulse. Chinese companies are, now, competing by investing in research, providing innovative features and building their own brand image. The rise of Chinese companies as an electronics manufacturing base is similar to Japanese ascendancy in the 1950s. The views and opinions of leaders on the Chinese growth in the consumer electronics industry are described.

Is HDMI back in the loop?

High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) has had high return rates due to compatibility issues with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) and its complexity. Latest specifications and stringent product testing have lowered the return rate of HDMI products, and companies now offer dealer/installer training. Trends and forecasts in HDMI are discussed.
