The Internet: a threat to national security?

Article Abstract:

Many government officials are concerned about the possible threat the Internet poses to national security. Few security managers take adequate steps to protect their organizations' computers from unauthorized access. The FBI, the Department of Defense, and the National Security Agency are aggressively pursuing security measures. The debate over computer security should rise to the forefront.

Computer security - the weak link?

Article Abstract:

Many security managers consider their organizations' computers to be sufficiently well protected from illegal access, but there is evidence to the contrary. It is very easy for cyberthiefs and hackers to gain access to computers, according to World Institute for Security Enhancement executive director G.F. Bryant Jr. Organizations should take steps to assure their computer security.

Many options for implementing Fortezza is in the MISSI framework

Article Abstract:

The National Security Agency's (NSA) Multi-level Information Security System Initiative (MISSI) is based on the Fortezza PC Card. The card can be used to transmit data that is classified up to the 'Secret' level. The NSA has placed orders with SPYRUS Inc and National Semiconductor for over 310,000 Fortezza PC Cards. PCMCIA implementation choices for the card are discussed.
