Article Abstract:

NWE officials advocated the construction of a 69-kV transmission line along the extent of St Croix River in an effort to improve electric power transmission services within the Grantsburg area. The project was made possible by creating a bentonite boring slurry with a depth of 10-12 ft.

Deferring tree trimming: a million-dollar mistake

Article Abstract:

Electric utilities may be able to generate significant savings if they conduct tree trimming activities on time. A study revealed that a four-year delay in trimming may cost as much as $2.5 mil in maintenance costs, $1 mil higher than the amount spent when observing regular schedules.
