Yamaha's high-tech DSP studies unlock secrets of rich sound

Article Abstract:

Yamaha Corp has introduced its RX-V2095 home theater receiver which adopts its proprietary Cinema DSP system. The seven-channel receiver can process a broad range of of data-rich digital signals and fine-quality analog signals, and also offers efficient sound field processing. RX-V2095 features 36 Surround Sound field programs that cover various genres such as movies, music videos, sports and live broadcasts. The receiver features the one-chip YSS-918 LSI, which is the cornerstone of Yamaha's Cinema DSP system.

Digital processes push audio products to new plane of quality

Article Abstract:

SRS Labs Inc, the developer of the Sound Retrieval System three-dimensional technology, has released a new multiple-channel audio system known as TruSurround with SRS. The company utilizes digital technology coupled with other processes to produce optimum performance and realistic sound systems. SRS' TruSurround, which is compatible with either Dolby ProLogic, Dolby Digital or Dolby Surround, is capable of producing 360 degree sound images around the listener by using the media's multiple-channel system.

VX-FT21BX3 combination TV, VCR

Article Abstract:

Aiwa Company Ltd introduces the $694 VX-FT21BX3 combination TV and VCR that incorporates a broadcast satellite tuner. The debuting product has three sets of audio-video inputs, two in front and one in back. These can be used to accommodate two game machines and one communication satellite tuner. The product can also record one program while users watch another and is capable of unattended recording.
