New directions for the tourist trade

Article Abstract:

The UK's 1995 Traffic Signs Regulations include changes to the system for allocating brown tourist traffic signs to particular attractions. Previously, rural hotels, leisure complexes, museums, zoos, ancient monuments, historic houses and theme parks were eligible for such a sign. Now, many more attractions, including public houses, shops and sports facilities, have become eligible. However, operators must still apply to the local highway authority for the signs and must pay for them.
