Aesop on quality systems: several ancient fables apply to familiar situations in the late 20th century

Article Abstract:

Aesop, a fabulist, living in the sixth century, created amusing vehicles for illustrating the foibles of human beings through his fables. His fables provide an insight in the failures and pitfalls of businesses in the 20th century. The story of the ant and the grasshopper shows that carefull planning is a key element of any quality system, and the story of the pig, the sheep and the goat, provides a lesson in the need of management involvement in the implementation of a quality system.
