Analytical approach of determining job division in manual assembly systems

Article Abstract:

An analysis for the determination of job division was described. The parametric description of the main elements of the planning problem served as the basis of the study. This was then transferred into a computer aided planning (CAP) tool. A dynamic evaluation and improvement component was used to complete the CAP-system. Improvement hints were suggested or carried out automatically depending on the values of the calculated key data. Planning results met the goal system by running the improvement several times with an open-loop.

Sustainable production: the ultimate result of a continuous improvement

Article Abstract:

The effect of continuously improving efficiency, quality and flexibility in bringing a company closer to sustainable internal production has been studied. An assessment procedure has been developed that will givecompanies the opportunity to inspect their actual sustainable production status. It involves planning and organization, pre-assessment, the actual assessment, feasibility study, implementation and continuation. Companies using sustainable production have lower costs and better product quality than their competitors.

On the utilization of a split production system with inter-stage inspection

Article Abstract:

The transient characteristics of a split production system are investigated. The system, which has an interstage inspection mechanism, has two parallel stations in the second stage and a single station in the first stage. To study the role of various parameters in its operation, a model based on semi-regenerative phenomena and systems of convolution integral equations is derived. Likewise, a numerical solution is developed.
