EEs so far escape the rising tide of layoffs

Article Abstract:

Electrical engineers (EE) have, so far, remained relatively untouched by layoffs sweeping through the technology sector. Statistics indicate that those let go have mainly been support staff and lesser-skilled workers hired in companies' high-growth times. An industry exec with an outplacement firm says companies tend to keep their core IT people, who drive the quality of their products and their ability to make new ones.
