Article Abstract:

Healthcare quality is one of the most solemn challenges that individuals of US are confronted with that requires improved treatment and medicines. The issues are intensified by the complex healthcare structure and unsteady costs. Doctrines of Philip Crosby, W. Edwards Deming, Armand V. Feigenbaum and Joseph M. Juran are presented to offer a base to deal with managing costs while making better the excellence of healthcare.

The concept of sudden transformation offers a compelling metaphor for the contrasting 20th century healthcare with an entirely new, second curve healthcare paradigm that is now in its infancy. Healthcare's present lack of adequate quality and safety infrastructure would continue patient harm for the foreseeable future.

Simplify Baldrige for healthcare

All organizations can use the method of Malcolm Baldrige Model for Performance Excellence for carrying out organizational evaluation. The benefits of the Model are presented. Self-assessment matrix and opportunity for improvement (OFI) can also be utilized to teach leadership on the value of review and perfection.
