Career orientations, perceptions of rewarded activity, and career strategies among R&D professionals

Article Abstract:

The importance of research and development (R&D) and the effective management of R&D professionals has been emphasized by the role of technological innovation in the success of technology-based companies. This implies that technical professionals need to become more proactive in their career management. This would involve the development of career strategies to meet the professional's career objectives. Furthermore, management should also take responsibility for the career development of technical professionals. This includes the establishment of a career development system which sustains the productive technical careers of its professionals.

Article Abstract:

These records serve as a basis for the company's performance assessment, which flows from customer satisfaction, sets budgetary requirements and applies a managerial or organizational philosophy to direct all activities.
